Portland Modern put out a request for quilt designs and two came in.Members voted and Linda’s was chosen. She says, “This spoke most to me as a jumping off point for playing around with scale and layout and the ways in which balance changes depending on the color pairings and sizes of repeated shapes.”We got to work.
Joyce Gieszler created patterns for the 72 triangles in 2″, 4″ and 8″ sizes and kits were assembled and passed out. Over fifty members made blocks. We watched on Instagram as members posted their finished blocks. At the January PMQG meeting, the finished quilt was shown and, Erin, our president put out a call for names. “It Takes a Village” was chosen.
